NONE of these companies can do one single thing that you can not do for yourself and then you can put their outrageous fees toward your debt.

WRITE each company and make an offer that you CAN afford each month even if that is 5 per company. If the accounts are in collection WRITE them and offer a lump sum payment (30-50% depending on the age of the debt) if they will consider the account paid in full.

Though it is great if you can swing it to negotiate a pay for deletion you may make a bit better deal in the dollar amount if you just negotiate a lowered balance.

If you are in the UK the citizens advice bureau will do what Greenpath do. Only the citizens advice bureau is free. Greenpath take some sort of cut / fee from you.

If you are associated with a credit union, tell them the location to see if they have a partnership. If so, there are no fees for their services! ;D The other answer mentioned debt settlement (lump sum pmt to pay off debts). That is for those that have thousands to pay off debt, most DO NOT. Plus debt settlement stays on your credit report (derogatory) for 7 yrs as a black mark. Not worth the savings since it haunts your credit score for so long! Hopes this helps!
