Yes, debt issues can.. however, since you are only looking at a Secret it will not be as large of an issue as if it were a Top Secret. Chances are if it did not set off any flags while you were filling out your SF-86, you will not have any issues when it comes time to recieve your clearance. I would not worry to much about it at this time.

That said, continue on your path so that if you ever do need a TS you won’t have an issue.

I wouldn’t worry about it you have a better chance of not getting you clearance because some REMF screwed up inputing it. I have a secret but never use it. In the signal corps you will need it because of SOI and other sensitive things. I wouldn’t worry about it, you are taking care of what you need to take care of. If it doesn’t work out just sign up for the Infantry!!! 11B!

No. But the fact that you needed this program may be a hinderance. It shows lack of financial responsibility (I am not judging, I also did this). Iam only thinking of how the military may look at it, and we had a low credit score for quite a while after we consolidated. Good luck to you in the service.
