Jessica B asked: My brother-in-law took out a home equity loan and he went to refinance his house and for whatever reason the house did not appraise for what it needed to partly because of the home equity loan that he already had. He was told to pay off his home equity loan and come back to refinance his house. Is there anyway that he can change his home equity loan to a personal loan? Or would that even help? please help. thanks.

Bonnie B asked: I am looking to buy a house. I need about 3500 dollars for a down payment. The new tax credit would be available 4-6 weeks after closing. Is there anyway I can get a personal loan for the down payment and then use the money from the tax credit to repay the loan. Hopes this makes some sense. Any help from those who are not rude (as i have found on this site) is greatly appreciated.
